Welcome to the 11th National Public Health Conference and our 1st Global Public Health Conference, organized by the Malaysian Public Health Physicians’ Association (PPPKAM) and Kedah State Health Department. We are delighted to have you here at Resorts World Langkawi, a beautiful and serene island in Kedah, Malaysia.
The theme of this conference is Building A Resilient Public Health System for A Better Future. This is a timely and relevant theme, especially in light of the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. The pandemic has exposed the vulnerabilities and gaps in our public health system, as well as the opportunities and innovations that can emerge from a crisis.
We believe that public health is not only about preventing and controlling diseases, but also about promoting and protecting the health and well-being of individuals, communities and populations. Public health is a multidisciplinary and multisectoral field that requires collaboration and coordination among various stakeholders, such as health professionals, policy makers, researchers, civil society, private sector and media.
That is why we have invited a diverse and distinguished group of speakers and panellist from Malaysia and abroad to share their insights, experiences and best practices on various aspects of public health, such as health system strengthening, health economics and financing, health promotion and education, health equity and social justice, environmental health and climate change, digital health and innovation, and many more.
We hope that this conference will provide you with a valuable platform to learn from each other, exchange ideas, network with peers, and forge new partnerships for advancing public health in Malaysia and beyond. We also hope that you will enjoy the hospitality and culture of Kedah, as well as the natural beauty and attractions of Langkawi.

Welcoming Message
by Minister of Health Malaysia.
Recent pandemic has clearly signified Public Health as one of the vital components for the nation civilization. Without Public Health, catastrophic from the impact of the pandemic may be much more severe. Efforts to enhance and strengthen the available system through this Conference is undoubtedly very pertinent in anticipating uncertain challenges in this discipline.
Efforts to achieve quality health care and fair access to health system for all should be accompanied by community empowerment. As part of team in the country’s healthcare providers, we have to strengthen all measures to provide insightful awareness among the community on responsibility to achieve the effective and sustainable of the system.
I would like to welcome all participants to the 11th National Public health Conference and 1st Global Public Health Conference. Congratulations to all organizing committee members on great effort to ensure the success of the program.
